What do we offer that will benefit your company?

  • Mind, body and energy management.
  • Increased awareness into how body and mind interact.
  • Development of optimal physical and mental potential and wellbeing.
  • A greater ability to recognize the signs of stress and to deal with them.
  • The ability to be extroverted and when needed introverted, enhancing the ability to be pro-active, focused and reflective.

The Price of Stress

The ability to handle stress is often seen as something intrinsic to a person's character – either you can or you can't. But the fact is, managing stress is simply a matter of having the right knowledge and the appropriate techniques. Everyone can learn to handle stress.

There are five different types of stress:

  • An overactive mind.
  • An accumulation of physical tension.
  • Cerebral stress, caused by over-using the mind for one specific activity.
  • Nervous tension, associated with fear and anxiety.
  • Emotional tension.

Working with Wellbeing has tools to deal with them all – preventing stress makes more economic sense than treating its consequences. When a person feels at ease both physically and mentally, they are much more able to interact and cooperate with others, and feel more empathy for their colleagues. This makes teamwork much more effective. To understand other people, it is vital to have a good understanding of yourself. Just as a plant depends on nutritious soil, sunlight and water to flourish and grow, a business depends on a healthy, happy and motivated workforce. As most people spend 30-40 hours a week in their place of work, the quality of that experience will greatly influence their performance, health and contentment. This in turn will have far-reaching effects upon the growth and performance of the entire company.

The price of stress

Stress diminishes pleasure, creativity and productivity. It can cause feelings of alienation, of a life dominated by future worry, preventing an individual from living in the present moment. And the cost to society is high. Sick employees are expensive so it is vital, especially in today's tough economic climate, to hold on to them, to prevent them becoming sick. To do that, they have to be able to handle stress. In today's tough economic climate, companies often have to make sacrifices in order to survive, never mind grow. As a result, people often have more work to do than they can comfortably manage, and stress levels rise. This in turn is producing a multitude of stress-related ailments, such as sleeplessness and anxiety. Stress involves tension, both physical and mental, as well as irritation, a loss of patience and motivation, and reduced focus, tolerance, memory capacity and immunity to illness. Obviously, this is not conducive to achieving optimum performance, contentment and economic growth.

Prevention & Cure

The movements in the three modules have a preventive as well as a curative effect upon conditions such as RSI (mouse arm), headache, tensions due to incorrect posture or repetitive movements, mental and emotional stress, high blood pressure, breathing difficulties, sleeplessness and tiredness. They lead to an increased awareness of habits that reduce an individual’s performance and sense of wellbeing. More importantly they give people the tools to correct and even prevent these conditions. They include simple ways to prevent stress reactions taking place, which will strengthen the immunity system and calm the mental fluctuations to enhance clear thinking, memory and the ability to focus.

Three Modules to reduce stress

Working With Wellbeing offers your company three modules, given to groups of maximum 20 people at a time at their place of work, by experienced yoga teacher – in English and/or Dutch.

Clothing should be light and loose fitting and shoes must be removed during all modules. If individuals have physical limitations or other problems, these will be taken into account and exercises adapted as appropriate given. All modules will be given in English and/or Dutch.

These are the modules we offer:
  1. Module 1: Sitting & Standing Corrective postures to be done at work while sitting or standing. Participants will be asked to reflect upon their strengths, weaknesses, ambitions and needs relating to the present moment.
  2. Module 2: Waking Up & Winding Down Postures and techniques that can be performed at home for 15-20 minutes before and after work.
  3. Module 3: Feedback & Future www-logo-vertThe third module provides an opportunity to reflect on what has been understood during the first two modules, and how to continue this development of awareness in the future.

Reflection will be centred upon how an individual has recognized his or her strengths, weaknesses, ambitions and needs during the modules and how these have changed.

Extra Options
  • Regular follow-up can be provided if desired, after completing the three modules.
  • On-site, informal presentations, during an afternoon or a whole day, for employees as well as management to introduce and demonstrate what we have to offer you and to answer queries.
  • Off-site whole days or weekends with a special theme with the aim of going deeper into the benefits yoga techniques have to offer and to give more individual attention. Held in the countryside, study materials, accommodation and meals included.
What you can expect from the 3 modules
  • An awareness of incorrect posture and the knowledge of how to correct it.
  • Improved flexibility and strength, and the ability to prevent and remove tension in the body.
  • An awareness of the link between your breathing, your mind and your energy level.
  • The ability to increase or decrease your energy levels as appropriate.
  • More balance between parts of the body, a stronger immune system and an increased ability to prevent and reduce illness.
  • Greater mental clarity, concentration, focus and awareness.
  • Increased emotional balance.
  • Improved interaction between body and mind.
  • A considerable reduction in physical and mental stress. Less tiredness.
  • Optimal physical and mental potential and wellbeing.
  • We suggest that modules 1 and 2 each be carried out once a week for at least three months. This will encourage regular practice and allow you to experience the benefits of the physical postures in your daily life. Participants will be asked to list their strengths, weaknesses, ambitions and needs at the beginning of the first module, and to reflect on or change them during the period in which the three modules are carried out. During the third module, these will be considered again, respecting an individual’s desire for privacy in regards to sharing personal information with the group.

The modules can be given in the workplace, or, if necessary, other locations can be arranged. The content of the modules can be adapted to fit a particular type of work, taking account, for example, of prolonged sitting, tasks carried out at the computer, prolonged standing or heavy, physically taxing work..
